Love is a battlefield.....said while seriously LOL'ing

I have a laughing issue lately...I have this bellowing laugh that I can hear with my own ears.  My friends crack me up...my side has actually hurt some days.  It makes me so happy to laugh...it feels so damn good!!

 Life has been good lately, really really good.  It could be that I have spent so much time with my 3 daughters and have had lots of fun with them.  We have played hoops outside, had friends over for dinner, sleepovers with cousins, and movie nights with some of the best popcorn ever!  It could be this amazing weather the past week here in Milwaukee. 70's and the next few days in the low 80's.  I think it could make any Wisconsin girl happy.  It could be that things are falling into place.....professionally and personally. It could be really any or all of it!

 

 On another fun note.

Tonight when I got home from work, Sarah, a.k.a "BI" or "Built In" as she has been nicknamed, was watching one of those singing competition shows. We totally sang along.....

I truly can't tell you how much I LoVe this song....... 

My sister and I made so many attempts to tape this during Casey Kasem's Top 40 countdown in the early 80's! Who knew the words are so bitter. Clear your mind and wash the palette clean sounds like the only sensible advice. ;)

Just Breathe....

The other night after our kids went to bed I had some wine with my two good pals Rachel and Patrice.  We sat in Patrice's kitchen (she is my next door neighbor).  We all agreed that this song is our favorite......I can listen to it all day. Getting ready this morning...I did.  I'll try to write more later...Heading to the store at 10, stop by.

She Runs.....

 

I had a great day with this group of woman way back during the Fall.  My long time friend Kelly (in the white T, to my right in this photo) works for a super creative ad agency here in Milwaukee. Jen in the pink tank in the middle was the principal lead for the commercial, the rest of us followed along.  Jen did the greatest job and exudes what a true runner is. The commercial was filmed on numerous days and through three seasons. I absolutely love the way the commercial turned out. NonBox is the ad agency...a seriously genius group of people. Makes me wish I would have headed in that career direction.  The film and lighting crew is none other than The Electric Sun Corporation.  Rob and MP make working on their set feel like zero work at all. I have done a few things in the past with them, but this running ad was lots of fun.....might have helped that the part I was in was filmed in my hometown of Greendale, WI.  Susie, far right in the pic also went to school with Kelly and I. Almost all the women above still live in Greendale...It's a great village to grow up in!

Here is the final commercial. Blink and you'll miss me and my cronies running in the background...but Jen is really cool to watch. It truly makes me want to put my running shoes on...Scheels is not here in Wisconsin, but it still motivates you wherever you are!

One more thing...the entire commercial was filmed in Milwaukee and it's suburbs. Despite the sub par weather...I love this city!

I'm not scared of snow....

You don't frighten me Wisconsin Winter. You and your blustery wind, sleet, and tonight's anticipated 4-7 inches. 

Yes, my car does not have the best snow tires...it performs better on ice free pavement.

I still believe and have faith that Spring is imminent....

Yes, it may be far away, but it will come.

And I'll be ready.

Today at NextDoor we had tons of shoppers. Spring outfits flew out the door.....many heading on vacations, but some just going out here in Milwaukee this weekend.

Despite the sassy eye rolling our daughters can dish to us they do want to be just like their Moms.

My girls have already found their way into my closest. My tops fit them, but of course not my denim.  Miss Me has a line of fun jeans for girls size 7-14.

Bring On The Color!!!

I am fairly certain that I never thought I would take part of the colored denim style.  I stand hugely corrected.

We are ready to order colored denim for Spring...which will eventually rear it's lovely face in this time zone about 10-12 weeks from now....in the meantime we can wear some bright jeans to take away from the little sunshine. ;)

I want your opinion on what colors you think are easy to pull off on a daily basis.  I know that red, electric blue, and green seem to be a vote from many of my friends.

A mix tape for you....

Remember back in high school when friends made mix tapes for each other? I kind of think it's a boy/girl thing. I know it is a great way to grab my attention....

The Denim Mobile

  

2012 promises to be a fun year at Nextdoor with the addition of our Denim Mobile. We'll be out and about the Greater Milwaukee area at community events and festivals. We'll even show up at your door for a denim party, invited of course. So stay tuned, look for us on the road and in your neighborhood. From our door to yours!

You know I will drive this rig like its a Volkswagen Bug....I can parallel park it as well! 

We'll be out as soon as the snow melts.
